Powder coating: a bar in your own colour

The standard finish on the bars is anodised aluminium: durable, low-maintenance and a clean industrial look that suits most machines. But a light bar is also one of the most visible parts you can add, and plenty of owners want it in a specific colour, matching the machine, the fleet livery or simply a personal preference. That is what the powder coating option is for.

What powder coating is

Powder coating applies a dry pigment that is then cured into a hard, even layer. On a bar it gives a tough, consistent colour finish that stands up to weather and washdown better than ordinary paint. It is a common, well proven finish for this kind of exterior metalwork; that part is general knowledge, not a manufacturer specification.

How to order it

Powder coating is offered as a quote option rather than a fixed catalogue price, because colour, quantity and lead time vary per order. On a bar product page you will find a powder coating block that starts a quote with the option pre-filled. Tell us the colour you want (a RAL code is easiest) and the machine it is for, and we confirm the specifics for that order.

What to keep in mind

A few honest notes. A coated finish is a cosmetic and protective layer, not a change to the bar itself or its fitment. Colour matching to an exact machine shade is best done with a RAL reference rather than a description. And because coating is done to order, it adds some lead time compared with a standard anodised bar off the shelf. The maintenance rules for the bar still apply; a coated surface is treated gently, with no aggressive cleaners.

Not sure it is worth it?

If you are outfitting a single machine, anodised is perfectly good and ready to ship. If you run a fleet, or you care about how the machine looks as much as how it works, a coated bar in your colour is a small touch that reads as pride in the machine.
