Work light, position light, flashlight: the three functions on a bar

Look at a fully built bar and you see several lamps, but they are not all doing the same job. Across the catalogue a kit combines up to three distinct light functions, and the factory wires each one to its own labelled lead so the operator can switch them independently. Knowing which is which helps you choose the right package and wire it correctly.
Work light
Work lights are the plain floodlights: white light aimed at the task, the bucket, the yard or the field in front of the machine. On the bar they are the high-output LEDs meant for actually seeing your work in the dark. Position light
Position lights mark where the machine and the bar are. In the component lists they appear in white, orange and, on some models, red. They are low-output marker lights, not work lighting: their job is to make the outline of a wide or tall machine visible to others. Because they touch road use, they come with rules. When a bar is fitted to a class 1 motorised implement, the position lights must run through a switch; the background is in position lights and public roads.
Flashlight
The flashlights are the amber warning beacons: the flashing lights that say a machine is working here. They are programmable across a set of flash patterns, with R65 as the EU-approved, recommended pattern. The detail is in R65 and the flash patterns. A separate night dimming lead lets you tone them down after dark, which matters on a job site or in convoy.
Why they stay separate
Keeping the three functions on their own circuits is what makes the bar usable. You run work lights only when you need to see, position lights whenever the outline must be visible, and flashers only while warning is required. The factory loom arrives with each lead labelled, so an installer connects work light, position light and flashlight to the right machine circuits without guesswork.
